In ancient times, runes were used as an alphabet. Each rune is a letter of the alphabet. The first runes in Scandinavia — a 16-character alphabet — arose around the middle of the 3rd century CE. These signs have been found on some 200 artifacts. About 600 years later, in the 9th century, this alphabet was replaced by a more modern runic alphabet of 24 characters, the “futhark”. Like tarot, runes give you answers from your subconscious. By drawing a rune you will receive an answer to your question from the depths of your subconscious mind. Modern divination likewise uses 24 runes and 1 blank rune. Each rune symbolizes one kind of energy flow with similar qualities, yet the number of ways one and the same rune can manifest is enormous, and it is simply impossible to cover every possible meaning. In this article I will describe the meaning of each rune.
The Fehu rune
Winnings, production, profit, good fortune. Financial well-being in the near future or right now. Plans and hopes coming true in life. Hope, friendship, love, luck, happiness. A new acquaintance. Energy, foresight, creation, building. Fehu is a symbol of wealth, prosperity, abundance, and comfort. This rune is responsible for preserving what has been gained and for gaining more. Essentially this rune relates to material success — money and property. But it also governs inner wealth — experience and spiritual maturity. It helps you be wise and grow inwardly. New streams of money will open up, and new ways of earning will reveal themselves.

The Uruz rune
Physical strength, speed, untapped potential. Tremendous energy, health. Freedom, will, action, courage, strength, persistence, understanding, wisdom. A good mood. Sudden or unexpected changes (usually for the better). Sexual desire, potency. Good health. Success in business, profit. The building of power. Taking on a new form, transformation, spiritual growth, moving to a new level: a new world, new perspectives and opportunities. Uruz means “strength”. It symbolizes the uncontrollable force of change coming from outside, and the need for renewal. Uruz is the flame that burns away everything old and unnecessary. It is best described as the rune of growth through leaving the comfort zone. Uruz brings about transformation — both outer and inner. Everything unnecessary is cut away — everything that hinders moving forward and evolving.
